Parliament Approves Seven High Court Judges
The Parliamentary Appointments Committee on Monday(11th April 2016) approved seven newly appointed Judges of the High Court.
The new Judges were appointed by\r\nPresident Museveni to the Bench on 5th February 2016.
The Appointments Committee chaired by Speaker, Hon. Rebecca Kadaga and other MPs from both the ruling NRM party and Opposition.
The approved Hon. Judges are:
1. \r\nMr. Zeija Flavian
2. \r\nMrs. Anne Mugenyi Bitature
3. \r\nMr. Moses Kawumi Kazibwe
4. \r\nMrs. Ketra Katunguka
5. \r\nMrs. Suzan Okalany
6. \r\nMr. Ayuko Anthony Ojok
7. \r\nMr. Mubiru Stephen
The President appointed the judges to\r\nfill the vacancies arising from the September 2015 elevation of six High Court\r\nJudges to the Court of Appeal/Constitutional Court and the retirement of one\r\njudge.
The appointment of the new judges,\r\nbrings the total number of High Court judges to 49, against an established\r\nstructure of 50.
